  1. Maybe something like a trap you can drop near you to try and root them for <xx> amount of seconds.
  2. I love each class having it's own job, it really promotes playing with others and isn't that what an MMO is really all about? I miss the days of the old school style MMO where you all had a role to play rather than one character solo'ing everything.

    DPS Self healing

I love having no heals on dps characters and having a dedicated healer character in your party, it promotes grouping up with others and it's also a great way to meet new people. It's not like the old days where you would create a full party of different classes that worked well together for different tasks. I find it ridiculous if a dps can pump out huge damage and continuously heal themselves. Maybe something like a combat points system with consumables to fill that bar which takes damage before you start to lose health. Obviously you'd have a short cool down on the consumables. It would give people the chance to pvp without a healer at all times as well add in another task that while not necessary will help you if you do farm for them.
  4. Some info from the devs on this topic. How will gear/drops work? The exact progression system does not seem to be fleshed out, so far it seems all gear drops with random stats and there will be ways to increase those stats after obtaining the items What is crafting in Oath? What will I be able to craft? “Crafting is going to be a big feature in Oath. You'll be able to craft weapons, armor, food, potions and other important items if you have the required materials. We were also planning on some of the materials having random properties which may increase the chance of you getting a specific stat on a piece of crafted gear etc.”
  5. I liked the way it was in Lineage 2 in that you could set the item distribution when creating a party. They had options like Finders Keepers (loot went to whoever picked it up), By turn (No matter who picked the loot up it was distributed by turn between party members, one after the other) and Random (Distributed randomly). The reasons I like this system are because you can set it to random or turn based to distribute it fairly between the party or if you're in a clan party for instance the leader can pick it all up then distribute it based on who needs what etc. If you're with random people in a party and get items you don't need it gives you the opportunity to sell it to someone in the party that needs it or even give it to them for free if you're feeling generous or you can sell it on the marketplace for a profit. A healthy economy is a great thing to have in MMO's. As for the dungeons, personally I'm not a fan of instanced stuff and loved being able to just wander my way into any dungeon that I wanted to albeit at a danger to myself if I went into one that was obviously too high for me and instantly died to mobs.
  6. Rather than quote everyone I'll just try to answer a few things below with information provided by the devs. PvP and PvE gear is not separate and you won’t be able to change Armour or Weapons during combat. Will this game have end-game PVE? “Absolutely. That's one of the main things we want to focus on. We want the game to be challenging.” How will gear/drops work? The exact progression system does not seem to be fleshed out, so far it seems all gear drops with random stats and there will be ways to increase those stats after obtaining the items What is crafting in Oath? What will I be able to craft? “Crafting is going to be a big feature in Oath. You'll be able to craft weapons, armor, food, potions and other important items if you have the required materials. We were also planning on some of the materials having random properties which may increase the chance of you getting a specific stat on a piece of crafted gear etc.” Does crafting give Experience / Can I level through crafting? “Crafting gives you crafting experience. It does not level up your class level” How will we gain crafting materials? / Will there be a profession system? There will be Woodcutting, Mining, Fishing, Gathering, and Skinning professions to supplement your crafting.
  7. I'd have to say historically I've played more humans followed by elves, but it really depends on the class I feel like playing. I will admit though I'm prejudiced to ugly characters lol.
  8. I was so shocked and happy to see they're going to be doing OCE servers.
  9. This has been answered by the devs already, I'll paste it below. Q: Will there be a way for us to earn cosmetics in-game, possibly by buying them from other players? A: There may be a way to earn cosmetics in-game for free, but we will not allow players to sell cosmetics for in-game currency as that could be an element that leads to giving an advantage to players that spend real money.
  10. I agree with Aska. I love the old school archer classes where you use a bow and only a bow. All you need is a stun for some crowd control and something like a dash that gives you increased move speed for a short while in order to gain some distance on your enemies. I really don't understand why all MMO's are adding in a second weapon and set of skills for a ranged class in recent years.
